  CLARF - October 21-22 2022

THIS YEAR'S EVENT

We've missed fellowship with our fellow anglers, and the unbridled joy of seeing people experience our wonderful fishery. The past few years have been trying for everyone, and truthfully things still just aren't the same. Many things remain in flux, and we are all holding on to the things that make us remember less complicated times. Being together to chase Albies and Redfish, sharing stories, breaking bread, and taking our Veterans fishing is something we can do. We've heard from so many that want to do just that and we're go to help!

We're still trying to work out how we can operate as the event you're all accustomed to, and as hard as we tried we just couldn't get there this year. Everything points towards us being able to next year, but nobody wants to wait that long to have a good time. We've decided to pare things down and focus on just being together and going fishing. This year there won't be a Captains' Party, silent auction, or raffle prizes. There will still be a tournament. We will still take Veterans fishing. We will have a good time!

So what will this year look like? On Friday, the 21st of October we're going to take Veterans fishing. We've already had boat captains volunteer, and we're grateful for their willingness to help. Then on Saturday, the 22nd of October we're going to hold a one-day, shotgun tournament. Afterwards we'll have a pig pickin' with sides, tea and soda as the Awards Dinner at the Tipsy Turtle in Atlantic Beach, NC. We'll have music and a tab at the bar for beer. (You can purchase anything else at the Tipsy Turtle's full bar.) Prizes will be awarded to the Overall Fly Angler, Overall Rod & Reel Angler, and the Overall Youth Angler. There will also be some good door prizes. Registration is only $50.00 and will cover entry, dinner, and the chance to win the door prizes.

Although we are not operating as a Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, Inc. (PHWFF) event, we will still be donating all excess revenue to a local program in the North Carolina Region of PHWFF.

We're certain everyone will have a good time, get reacquainted, and be all jazzed up for a full blown event next year! Please come out and join us. We'll see you in October!

Anyone that would still like to take a Veteran fishing can email us at:  info@capelookoutalbacorefestival.com  If we're still in need we'll be happy to link you up with a Veteran.
